Parents always want to do their best; sometimes we need help
I graduated from Northeastern University with a Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology. My initial focus was on mothers who struggled with substance abuse disorders and mental health concerns. Starting in 2000, I began to exclusively focus on the impact of trauma on parenting and child development, with a particular focus on families with young children and helping parents to become therapeutic parents. My approach exclusively uses a trauma sensitive lens; the tenets being trauma impacts everyone, changes everything and relationships heal/resilience is possible. At Developing Families, I will support you to better understand the needs of the caregivers and the children in your family. This can happen through parent consultation, therapeutic parent coaching and/or with doula services for families experiencing PMADS (Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder).
